A Lifetime Around Yachts

As an experienced yacht captain, I bring more than three decades of professional yachting experience and a lifetime around the sea to Lamadrid Yacht Services.

From classic sailing yachts and ocean passages to modern catamarans and motor yachts, every project has reinforced the same principles: preparation, seamanship, discretion and attention to detail.

Today, that experience is dedicated to one purpose: looking after each yacht properly, so its owner can enjoy it without unnecessary concerns.

My Journey

FROM EXPERIENCE TO EXPERTISE

As an experienced yacht captain with over 30 years at sea, since 1997, I have dedicated my career to professional yachting, sailing more than 170,000 nautical miles and completing five Atlantic crossings. I have commanded sailing yachts, catamarans and motor yachts from 18 to 35 metres, combining ocean passages, private ownership, charter operations and yacht preparation.

My approach has remained the same throughout my career: careful preparation, sound seamanship, reliability and attention to detail.
Every yacht should be safe, properly prepared and ready for the voyage ahead.

Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in offshore sailing, yacht deliveries, racing and yacht operations. My background includes participation in World Championships aboard Maxis and other racing classes, as well as long-distance ocean passages and the command of sailing yachts, catamarans and motor yachts.

During my career, I have worked with yachts in very different environments, from Mediterranean cruising and charter operations to demanding offshore passages and transatlantic deliveries. This experience has taught me that successful yacht operation depends not only on navigation, but also on preparation, maintenance, crew coordination and the ability to anticipate problems before they become serious.

I have been involved in yacht deliveries, refits, new-yacht preparation and technical improvements, working directly with owners, shipyards, engineers and specialist contractors. Whether preparing a yacht for an ocean crossing or assisting an owner with the operation and improvement of a vessel, my priority is always the same: safety, reliability and practical solutions based on real experience at sea.

Today, I bring that experience together through Lamadrid Yacht Services, providing professional support in yacht delivery, yacht preparation and captain consultancy for owners who want their yachts properly prepared, maintained and ready for the voyage ahead.
